About the practice

Where are your patients located?

Terrain Medical sees patients located in Florida, by secure video and messaging. Multi-state expansion is planned for late 2027, starting with Tennessee.

What does "terrain" mean?

It's the internal environment your health depends on: your hormones, gut, immune system, nervous system, and your body's own electrical signaling. Most medicine treats disease after it shows up. I look for what in the terrain let it develop, and treat that. My PhD research in bioelectric medicine is the foundation.

Is there a limit to how many patients you accept?

Yes. I keep the practice to 150 memberships. One membership covers you, your partner, and your kids; only memberships count toward the 150. When the spots fill, there's a waitlist.

Do I need this level of care?

You don't have to be sick to join. Plenty of members arrive with a problem no one has solved, and just as many are well, wanting a physician who knows them, watches their labs over time, and works on longevity and performance. Both belong here.

Pricing and insurance

Why is this cash only? Why don't you take insurance?

Because I answer to you instead of an insurer. I set the visit length, choose the right medication without clearing a formulary, and spend my time on your care rather than on claims. The full cost comparison is on the pricing page.

Is my health information more private here?

Your care isn't billed to insurance, so no claims about your visits, diagnoses, or treatments are filed with an insurer. Anything you choose to run through your own insurance, like labs or prescriptions, follows that plan's normal records. Either way, your chart stays protected under federal privacy law.

Should I still keep health insurance?

Yes. Keep at least a basic plan for hospital stays, surgery, and the ER. The details, including what a basic Florida plan runs, are on the pricing page.

Are membership fees HSA-eligible?

It depends. A 2026 federal change allows certain membership medical fees up to $150 a month for an individual, or $300 per household, to be paid from an HSA. The $500 rate is above that limit, so the safe harbor doesn't apply automatically. Check with your HSA administrator and a tax advisor first.

Do you accept Medicare?

Not yet. Right now I can't take patients who are on Medicare or old enough to qualify for it. That changes in late 2027. If that's you and you'd like a spot when it opens, book the free 15-minute call and I'll add you to the list.

Medical care

What medications do you prescribe?

The full range of primary care: hormone therapy for men and women (testosterone, estrogen, progesterone, thyroid, DHEA), antidepressants and medications for anxiety and sleep, metabolic medications including GLP-1s and metformin, and blood pressure and cholesterol medications. I also review and adjust everything you're already taking. If something falls outside what I treat, I'll point you to the right specialist.

How quickly do you respond to messages?

I answer personally, morning and evening, seven days a week.

Do you communicate with my other practitioners?

Yes. With your permission, I'm in direct contact with anyone involved in your care, whether that's an acupuncturist, chiropractor, physical therapist, naturopath, dentist, or specialist.

What about emergencies?

Terrain Medical isn't an emergency practice. For a medical emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. For a mental health crisis, call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.

What if I need an in-person physical exam?

For the few things that need hands-on contact, like a specific musculoskeletal injury, I refer you to a local provider I trust and fold their findings into your plan. Everything else works the same on video as it does in an office.

Getting started

Can my spouse or partner join?

Yes. A spouse or partner joins under your membership, and kids do too. Family rates are on the pricing page.

Can I cancel my membership?

Yes, anytime. Your membership ends at your next billing date. No long-term contract, and no cancellation fee.
